Zelda M. HILBERT

Ludowici – Zelda M. Hilbert, 88, died Wednesday, August 4, 2021, in the Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton after a sudden illness.  She was a native of Dillsburg, PA and had lived in Long County for over twenty years.  She had formerly worked for Montgomery Ward and was a member of Ludowici First Baptist Church and the Adult Ladies Sunday School class.

Survivors are her daughter, Vickie Childers of Walterboro, SC; son, Ronald Smith of Jefferson; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Joyce Hammond of Dillsburg; close friend and “adopted” daughter, Mary Siets of Ludowici; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Pennsylvania with local services at a later date.
