Ludowici – Charlie Wilford Morris, 69, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022, under the care of his family and GHC Hospice. He was a native and lifelong resident of Long County and was retired as Road Superintendent for the Long County Road Department. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of Bear Island Hunting Club. Wilford was a Christian family man with an enormous heart, especially for his grandchildren and was quick to help any person in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Emma Morris, and siblings, Vetress Maulden (Willie), Eudell Bland (Henry), and Cecil Morris (Ann), brother-in-law, Robert Blocker.
Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Patty Davis Morris of Ludowici; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie Wiggins and James of Dallas; sisters and brother-in-law, Laverne Blocker of Richmond Hill, Loretta DeLoach and Marvin of Ludowici; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond Morris and Wendy of Mosinee, WI, Lourie Morris and Ann, and Norman Morris and Alene, of Ludowici; grandchildren, Taylor McCartney, Eli Wiggins, William Wiggins, and Stella Wiggins; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, October 17 from 6-8 PM at Howard Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, October 18 at 11 AM at Baggs Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Harvey, Eli Wiggins, Marvin DeLoach, Jamie Wiggins, Sam Taylor, and Tommy Bland.
