Gum Branch – Weida Mae Ray, 88, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021. Born in Ludowici, she lived in Gum Branch all of her life. She worked for many years at Waltrich Plastics, Liberty Industries, and with Fiber-Flo, but most treasured being a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and time spent with her family. She was a longtime member of Elim Baptist Church where she formerly served as treasurer and in the WMU. Her husband, Millen Ray, daughter, Sheila Whisman, and son, Cal Ray, preceded her in death.
Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Frank Yarbrough of Gum Branch, and Lynn and Ed Sherer of Yulee, FL; son and daughter-in-law, James and Bertie Ray of Gum Branch; daughter-in-law, Darlene Ray of Hinesville; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 27 at 10 AM at Elim Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 26 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Social distancing and the wearing of masks are encouraged at the visitation as well as the funeral services.
