Wanda (Bland) Futch

Ludowici – Wanda Bland Futch, 88, passed away, Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at her home under the care of Georgia Hospice and her family.  She was a lifelong resident of Ludowici and attended Tibet Baptist Church.  She was known for being a great babysitter.  She liked shopping at different thrift stores, especially Goodwill, and eating at Dairy Queen.  She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew her.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Futch; parents, Leland and Gertie Bland; brothers, Dan Bland and Henry Bland; and sister, Betty Smiley.

Survivors are her son, Garry Futch of Ludowici; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Stanley Harris of Ludowici; sisters-in-law, Jennie Futch of Shellman Bluff, Glenda Futch of Glennville, and Wanda Bacon Futch of Ludowici; brothers-in-law, Ferrell Smiley of Ludowici and Billy Sikes of Glennville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, September 28, at 11 AM at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Weldon officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services.  Burial will follow in the Rye Patch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Crosby, Kerry Harris, Daryl Futch, Carl Futch, Tommy Holland, and Camdon Poole.

The family would like to express their gratitude to her special caregivers, Joyce Hungerford, Ammy Heather, Delsie Ward, and the staff of GHC Hospice.  The family would also like to let everyone know they will be gathering at Lamar and Leann Poole's home.
