Vercie L. Cox

Darien – Vercie L. Cox, 81, died Thursday, August 12, 2021, at her home under the care of her family and GHC Hospice.  Born in Cottondale, FL, she lived in McIntosh County most of her life.  She received her Doctor of Education and retired from teaching after 33 ½ years of dedicated service.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who had a heart for helping others in her community and church.  She was a member of Darien Church of God and preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Beebe” Cox, and granddaughter, Maria Nicole Perez.

Survivors are her daughter, Tammy D. Perez, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 16 at 11 AM at Darien Church of God with Rev. Tommy Whaley and Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Burial will be in the Jones Creek Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Ira Corbett, Carl Conaway, Wayne Johnson, David Johnson, Jimmy Menezes, and Doug Roberson.
