81, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025, at her home under the care of hospice and her niece, nephew, sisters, and family. She was a native and lifelong resident of McIntosh County, a homemaker and loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt. Velma was a member of Townsend Church of God where she also served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny Ryals and Ernest Mosley, her children, Margaret Ryals, Annette McSwain, and Barry Ryals, and a brother, Albert Young.
Survivors are her sisters, Ada Johnson (Gene) of Brunswick, Jean Young and Minnie Young of Townsend; brother, Robert Young (Lynette) of Townsend; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 16 at 11 AM at Townsend Church of God with Pastor Danny Stilwell and Pastor Bruce Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 AM prior to services.
Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery in McIntosh County.
