Ludowici – Valerie Kaye Gosseck, 65, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Hinesville. Born in Ada, OH, she lived most of her life in Liberty and Long Counties and retired as Human Resources Manager from Walmart after 35 years of service. Valerie was an adrenaline junkie who enjoyed new challenges and experiences with her two children including skydiving on her 5oth birthday, kickboxing, parasailing, hang gliding, and held a private pilot’s license. She was a 2-time breast cancer survivor coming 30 years apart in addition to surviving clavicle cancer. She had a fighting spirit about herself and, even at her lowest points, held onto her fighting spirit showing grit and determination. Sports was a favorite pastime shared with her husband, including fishing the Canoochee River. She was of the Church of God faith and was preceded in death by her father, Arlen Lenhart.
Survivors are her husband of 47 years, Mike Gosseck of Ludowici; daughter, Sydney Walden (Andrew) of Ludowici; son, Hunter Gosseck (Sheree) of Jesup; mother, Sheron Lenhart of Adairsville; sisters, Jocelyn Chapman of Ludowici, and Brandi Stewart (Michael) of Ryder; brother, Chris Lenhart of Armada, MI; grandchildren, Dalen Gosseck, Ava Gosseck, Laighton Durham, and Truitt Walden; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 6 at 12 PM at Howard Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home.
