Townsend – Tony Gregory Howard, 59, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021 under the care of his family and Hospice of the Golden Isles. Born in Ludowici, he was a lifelong resident of McIntosh County and was a carpenter. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of Warsaw Hunting Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known as a prankster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornel Howard and Louise Hiney, sister, Tammy Hewitt, and brother, Stanley Howard.
Survivors are his wife, Shirley Howard of Townsend; daughter, Mandy Ryals of Townsend; son and daughter-in-law, James and Lisa Ryals of Brunswick; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Carlton Hendrix of Darien, Pam and Mike Grissino and Barbara Thomas of Townsend, Kellie Gandy of Brunswick, Ruth and Steve Mitchell of Riceboro, and Freida Howard of Crescent; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael Howard, Ricky Howard, and Shawn Hewitt of Townsend, Skippy and Freida Howard of Darien, and Robert and Julie Hewitt of Broxton; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Saturday, March 27 at 11 AM in the Ebenezer Cemetery with Rev. Jamie Rivera and Rev. Danny Stilwell officiating.
Visitation will begin Friday, March 26 at 6 PM at Mr. Howard’s residence, 1042 Church of God Road, NW, Townsend.
Active pallbearers will be Mitchell Howard, Quinton Hewitt, David Howard, Jay Hendrix, Hayden Hewitt, Justin Lamb, Rick Evans, Glenn Townsend, Darrell Young, Brad Willis, Mikey Thomas, and Charlie Rowe.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Warsaw Hunting Club.
