Ryan Gordon Obituary

Gum Branch – Ryan Gordon, 24, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at his home under the care of his family and Georgia Hospice Care after a courageous battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  He was a lifelong resident of Gum Branch and a 2012 graduate of Bradwell Institute.  He had a love of history, music, video games, and NASCAR.  He was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church having accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age.  Ryan had a burden for the unsaved.  In spite of his obstacles, he had an infectious smile and a tremendous, outgoing personality.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Adrian and Carolyn Long and Robbie and Juanita Gordon.

Survivors are his parents, Randy and Cathy Gordon of Gum Branch; his brother, LTJG Keith Gordon, USN, and wife Ashley of Meridian, MS; very special niece, Harper Gordon, who he called “Sweetie Pie”; aunts and uncles, Glenn and Beth Gordon, Lyn and Ricky Gosseck, and Jon and Lisa Long; longtime caregivers, Carolyn and Jan.  Numerous cousins and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 29 at 11 AM at Gum Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Gabe Gill officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-8 PM at the church.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Vince Poole, John Reddish, Marty Adams, Mike Arnold, Steve Carter, and Arthur Davis.

Remembrances are suggested to Georgia Hospice Care, 141 S. Macon St., Jesup, GA 31545.
