Survivors are his wife of thirty-seven years, Mary Jane Rowe Poppell of Ludowici; sons, Brock and Jamie Poppell and Brad and Katelyn Poppell of Ludowici; sister, Iona Ryals of Townsend; brother, George Poppell of Ludowici; grandchildren, Luke Poppell, Mary Ellen Poppell, Brody Poppell, Ava Poppell, Braxton Mezo, Cheyenne Giddens, Gene Sheppard, Jr., and Lillie Poppell; his “girls” from GHC, Christy Beepath and Cindy Baxter; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the family home at 1592 Butter Davis Rd., SE, Ludowici beginning at 3 PM Thursday, February 13.

Graveside services will be held Friday, February 14 at 3 PM in the Davis Cemetery in Long County with Rev. Danny Stilwell, Rev. Michael Poppell, and Rev. Tommy Whaley officiating.
