Ludowici – Roger Dale Hughes, 75, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.  The native of Huntington, West Virginia had lived in Long County most of his life.  He was a retired Environmental Technician from the Liberty County Health Department and was an animal control officer.  He was a US Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War and was a member of Hinesville V. F.W. Post 6602, the DAV, and Gum Branch Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Hughes.

Survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law, James and Lisa Hughes of Jesup, Robert and Katrina Hughes of Erwin, NC, Daniel and Heather Hughes of Glennville; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Roy Young of Sierra Vista, AZ; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Private services with military honors will be held in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Barbee officiating.

Burial will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
