Ludowici – Robin Smiley Shuptrine, 56, died Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Born in Hinesville, she grew up in Long County where she graduated from LCHS, class of 1984. She lived in Midway for several years and was a daycare instructor most of her life. Robin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, who cherished time spent with family and time at the beach. She was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church and preceded in death by her mother, Mary Rangel.
Survivors are her husband, Steven Shuptrine of Midway; daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly Bennett of Richmond Hill, Rebecca and Jamie Strickland of Hinesville, and Ashley and Michael McDonald of Midway; son, Kray Gordon of Hilton Head Island, SC; father, Hugh M. Smiley and Carol of Ludowici; sisters, Mylinda Heath and Brenda Miltiades, of Statesboro; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Elizabeth Smiley and Phillip Smiley, of Ludowici; nine grandchildren, Carlee Strickland, Kaylee Noles, Abigail Douglas, Trenton Strickland, Tyler Strickland, Ella Gray, Bryson Gray, Michael McDonald, II, and Chloe Bennett; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 29, at 11 AM at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tommy Ray officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Poplar Head Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Fred Noles, Jamie Strickland, Michael McDonald, Bo Shuptrine, David Smiley, and Ricky Heath.
Remembrances are suggested to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association in memory of Robin and in honor of her brave fight.
