Richard D. Schroeder

Hinesville – Richard D. Schroeder, 73, died Friday, December 25, 2020 at Harborview Health in Jesup.  The native of Maquoketa, IA had lived in Hinesville since 1982.  He was a retired master sergeant from the US Army with twenty years of service, a veteran of the Vietnam War, and a Purple Heart recipient.  He and his wife owned and operated R & J Produce in Hinesville for seventeen years and he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Schroeder.

Survivors are his wife, Joann Cobb Schroeder of Hinesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Marietta and Heinz Brandt of Worms, Germany, Molly Schroeder of Salinas, CA, Lisa and David Turner of Midway, Georgiann Hall of Hinesville, and Emily and Donnie Hunt of Ludowici; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard, Jr. and Pamela Schroeder of Marianna, AZ, Thomas and Stephanie Schroeder of Deatsville, AL, and John Hall of Bloomingdale; sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Jeff Schaeffer of Anamosa, IA; brothers and sister-in-law, Bill and Shirley Schroeder of Knob Noster, MO, and Randall West of Maquoketa, IA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with military honors will be Tuesday, December 29 at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brenda Crawford officiating.  Burial will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.

Visitation will be Monday, December 28 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
