Richard Revels Obituary

Ludowici – Richard Dean Revels, 71, died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, under the care of his

Family and GHC Hospice.  Born in Trenton, FL, he lived in various locations during his military

career, and in Long County since 1986.  He retired from the US Army with twenty years of

service and was retired as casualty officer from Ft. Stewart civil service.  He enjoyed camping,

fishing, and trips on his motorcycle.  He served his Lord through singing in area nursing homes

and served Long County for several years as deputy coroner.  He was Baptist by faith.

 

Survivors are Carolyn Dunham Revels of Ludowici; daughters and son-in-law, Tina and Marco

Elsenbach of Ft. Lewis, WA, and Faith Revels of Maine; son, Richard D. Revels, II of Ludowici;

sisters and brother-in-law, Susan and Jimmy Still and Pam Wisham of Hilda, SC; brother and

sister-in-law, James, II and Laverne Revels of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 26 at 2 PM at Jones Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Tony

Carter officiating.  Burial with full military honors will follow in Jones Creek Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
