Ludowici – Randall Owens, 66, passed away Friday, August 16, 2024, in Savannah. Born in Tracy City, TN, he was raised in Seminole, OK, lived in several places while serving in the military, and settled in Long County in 2019. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from the VA as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but mostly time spent with family. He was a member of Grace Assembly of God in Jesup and was preceded in death by his wife, Marge Owens, parents, Marvin and Narva Owens and Don Haigwood, and his brothers, Jack Anderson and Stephen Thomas.
Survivors are his daughters, Catherine Thrower (Chad) and Amanda Thrower (Jeremy) of Houston, TX; son, Michael Owens (Katie) of Ludowici; stepdaughter, Tammy Allensworth (Ron) of Kernersville, NC; sister, Shirley Rothell (Alva) of Cornelius, NC; brothers, Glen Thomas (Ginny) of Oklahoma City, OK, Richard Thomas (Kay) of Charleston, AR, and David Thomas of Wewoka, OK; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 21 at 11 AM. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 AM before the service.
Burial will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
