Ludowici – Phyllis Hodges Gaskin, 74, died Sunday, March 27, 2022, in Athens. She lived in Long, Liberty, and McIntosh counties most of her life and was a retired nurse having worked as a school nurse, in addition to working in the office of Dr. Robert Pumpelly in Jesup and was a caregiver. She enjoyed gardening, time on the beach shelling and hunting shark teeth, and time spent with her family. A faithful servant of her Lord, she was quick to witness to anyone about her faith, often handing out a Bible, and was a member of Elim Baptist Church. While living at Pine Harbor, she attended Crescent Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jimmy White, Johnny Hodges, and Myers Gaskin, and a sister, Marie Albritton.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Daniel Wells of Ludowici; son, Philip White of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Johnny Warren of Anniston, AL, Barbara Page of Columbia, NC, and Mary Anne and Randy Guyton of Dunedin, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Debra Pearson of Leland, NC; grandchildren, Will White, Ross White, and Ethan Wells; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 2 at 11 AM from Elim Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Ellis officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, April 1 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be Sunday, April 3 at 1 PM in Chandler Cemetery in Calhoun.
Active pallbearers will be James Forrest, Marcus Pearson, Keith Page, Will White, Ethan Wells, and Ross White.
