Townsend – Annie Pearl Young, 84, died Friday, September 10, 2021, at her sister’s residence in Long County. She was a native and lifelong resident of Townsend and had worked various jobs throughout her life, excelling as a homemaker for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a member of Eulonia Church of God of Prophecy and her husband, Ted Young, daughter, Faye Mobbs, son, Terry Young, siblings, Maggie Buie, Carroll, Earl, Dank, Wayne, and Doulas Rowe, and grandson, Andy “Bubba” Young, preceded her in death.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Andy, Sr. and Mary Young of Townsend; sister, Mary Jane Poppell of Ludowici; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous niece and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 12, at 3 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Stilwell and Rev. Adam Cothren officiating.
Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery in McIntosh County.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel.
Active pallbearers will be Damien Walls, A. C. Young, Brad Poppell, Brock Poppell, Joey Mobbs, and Anthony Mobbs.
