Townsend – Pearl B. Douglas, 90, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022. She was a native and lifelong resident of McIntosh County. She worked as a bookkeeper for over 40 years and was a homemaker. She served as organist at Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church beginning at age 10 where she played for over 65 years, stopping only when her eyesight failed. She was a loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves for many years and was a member of Morgans Chapel UMC. Her husband, Ralph Douglas, children, Judith Douglas and Kenny Douglas, and granddaughter, Bridgett Douglas Hogan, preceded her in death.
Survivors are her sons and daughter-in-law, Tommie and Bonnie Douglas of Darien and Mark Douglas of Townsend; daughter-in-law, Vicki Douglas of Townsend; sister-in-law, Barbara Wallace of Townsend; grandchildren, Tina, Amber, Stephanie, Noah, and Judith Ann; great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 12 at 11 AM at Morgans Chapel UMC with Rev. Danny Stilwell officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
