Naomi (Westberry) Parker

Ludowici – Naomi “Mema” Parker, 98, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in Claxton. Born in Jesup, the youngest of 12 children to Sim and Jincy Teston Westberry, and with all of her brothers serving in the military, she lived most of her life in Long County and was a homemaker.  Mema loved the simple things in life and found joy in the people around her. She was an avid reader who could often be found with a good book and a cup of coffee nearby. She enjoyed fishing, watching the birds, tending her garden, sewing, and shopping. While she loved these hobbies, nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.  She always looked forward to family gatherings, particularly Christmas and Thanksgiving, when everyone could come together to share food, laughter, and memories. Mema had a way of making those moments special simply by being there.  Mema spent her life caring for others. At one point or another, she took care of every member of her family, always making sure they were fed, loved, supported, and never alone when they needed her. Whether it was offering a helping hand, a listening ear, a home-cooked meal, or simply her presence, she was someone her family could always count on.  Mema was sharp as a tack and had a sassy personality that everyone knew and loved. She was quick-witted, spoke her mind, and could always deliver a remark that would make people laugh. Her feisty spirit, sense of humor, and strong personality were just a few of the things that made her unforgettable.  Above all, Mema will be remembered for the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lasting impact she had on her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family that will continue for generations. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.  She was a member of First Baptist Ludowici and was preceded in death by her husband, Treutlen Parker; daughters, Patsy Holland, Diane Barnard, and Susan Bean; son, Gary Pate; and siblings, Claudia, Albert, Josie, Lankford, Edith, G. W., Eugene, Mack, Theo, Gordon, and Alvin.

Survivors are her grandchildren, Donna Bland (Larry), Jennifer Campbell, Lindsey Martinez (Richard), Jincy Kirkland (Brandon), Joyce Williams (John), J. R. Barnard (Kristina), and Lori Holland; 21 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Service and burial will be private.
