Ludowici – Nancy Williams Carter, 72, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in Metter. Born in Savannah, she lived most of her life in Long County. She received her bachelor’s degree from Armstrong State College (now Georgia Southern University) and retired after 32 years as an educator. She enjoyed shopping, reading, gardening, and working with her flowers. She was a member of Jones Creek Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. “Bud” Carter, Jr., and her parents, Howard and Annie Culver Williams.
Survivors are her son, Chris Carter (Deona) of Ludowici; grandsons, Christopher Carter (Emily) and Alex Carter of Ludowici; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 21 from 6-8 PM at Howard Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at Jones Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Allan Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Creek Memory Gardens.
