Townsend – Mildred I. Rozier, 90, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at her home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Townsend, a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her hospitality. She was a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Patterson and was preceded in death by her husband, Brantley Rozier, siblings, Ruby Lee Townsend, Alma Stafford, Archie Poppell, Pauline Davis, and son-in-law, Ike Maulden, Sr.
Survivors are her daughters, Inez Maddux (Pastor Thomas) and Cathy Maulden of Townsend; son, Kenneth Rozier (Sonja) of Townsend; brother, Clayton Poppell (Ruth) of Lake Butler, FL; grandchildren, Jamie, Corey, Jeannie, Ike, Andy, Jennifer, Breanna, and Sherry; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Jasmine, Katie, Cody, Luke, Logan, Lydia, Leah, Brooklyn, and Logan; great-great-grandchildren, Avery, Dai, Pierce, Drayton, Cienna, and Celeste; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 3 at 3 PM in the Plum Orchard Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 2 from 6-8 PM at Howard Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Ike Maulden, Corey Phillips, Ben Townsend, Glenn Townsend, Glenn Rozier, and Norman Rozier,
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Rozier, Jr., Buddy Middleton, Johnny Chambers, Furman Davis, Steve Jessup, and Andy Maulden.
