Ludowici – Miguel Angel Aponte-Ortiz, 70, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at his home under the care of his family and Georgia Hospice Care. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he lived there most of his life, settling in Long County in 2013. He retired as a service technician from PGW in Philadelphia after 30 years of dedicated service and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was loved deeply by his family. He loved to tinker and was the facilities manager and a faithful member at A New Beginning Church.
Survivors are his wife, Carmen Aponte of Ludowici; daughters, Cathy Seiple (Jerry), and Michelle Parrilla (Javier) of Philadelphia; 8 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, numerous siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 20, at 1 PM at Howard Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Gardner officiating. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM prior to services.
Burial with military honors will follow at 3 PM at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
