61, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at his home. Born in Atlanta, he grew up in Long County, where he lived most of his life. He retired after 40 years of service from the Georgia National Guard and MATES, attaining the rank of MSG. While activated with the National Guard, he served tours in the Republic of Georgia, Iraq, and Afghanistan in support of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his daughter and grandchildren, and was an excellent cook. He was known for his grilling and Low Country Boils. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Mary Lynn Flowers.
Survivors are his daughter, Amber Flowers (Aaron Combs); sisters, Marlene Flowers of Jesup and Jeanette Ray (Tommy) of Glennville; brother, Mark Flowers (Lisa) of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Marissa Flowers, Jacob Hamilton, IV, Aubrey Hamilton, and Layne Combs; a great-granddaughter, Ivy Hitch; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Howard Funeral Home Chapel. A committal service will be on Monday, December 8, at 10 AM at the Georgia Veterans Cemetery in Glennville.
