Hinesville - Mattie L. Rigdon, 88, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022, under the care of her family and GHC Hospice. Born in Metter, she traveled with her husband during his 20-year military career, settling in Hinesville in 1976. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and a grandson, Angelo Depasquale.
Survivors are her husband of 71 years, Harrell Rigdon of Hinesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda Warren of Jacksonville, FL, Teresa and Charles Nolting of Shellman Bluff, and Robin and Bob Barfield of Allenhurst; sons and daughters-in-law, Harrell and Sylvia Rigdon of Townsend, and Mark and Candy Rigdon of Tifton; seven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, sixteen great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11 beginning at 4 PM at Howard Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 12 at 1 PM at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Candler County.
