Mary DeLong Obituary

87, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at her home.  She was a native of Live Oak, FL, and had lived in McIntosh County since 1967.  She was a homemaker and worked at Altama Delta, Shoney’s, and retail stores.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and the peacemaker for her family.  She was a member of Glory Worship Center in Darien.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert DeLong, and Hubert Hurst; son, Earl Dicks; grandsons, Carl Dicks and Bobby Dicks, II; and great-grandson, Brandon Hutcheson. 

Survivors are her daughter, Annie Essex; sons, Bobby Dicks (Amy), and Gerald (Skeeter) Dicks (Cindy) all of Darien; sisters, Shirley Wilson (Bob), Lillian Myers, and Wanda Williams (Kenny) all of Lake City, FL; brothers, Jerry Drawdy (Helen) of Starke, FL, and Gene Drawdy (Linda) of Lake City, FL; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 21, at 4:00 PM at Glory Worship Center.  Visitation will be one hour prior.  Rev. Lee Brant, Pastor Andy Amason, Don McSpadden, and Johnny Taylor will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. Andrews Cemetery in Darien. 

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
