Ludowici – Marjorie Stapleton, 85, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at her home. Born in Gum Branch to Lee and Ethel Groover Gordon, she lived in Long County most of her life and retired from Coastal Utilities as a telephone operator. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching gospel programs on television. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Brenda Kay Truman and Dennis Stapleton, and siblings, Elva Gray, Lois Smith, and Reginald Gordon.
Survivors are her daughter, Tammy Schroeder, and husband, Neil, of Ludowici; grandchildren, Jamie Reddish, Stefanie Talkington, and Robbie Sauls; great-grandchildren, Allison, Natalie, Isabel, Robbie, Hunter, and Nick; 7 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Saturday, October 21, at 1 PM at Gum Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with her nephew, Eddie Folker, officiating.
