Margaret (Allen) Johnson

Ludowici – Margaret Johnson, 91, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, in Ludowici.  Born in Fitzgerald, she grew up in Gardi, lived in Jesup for several years, and lived most of her life in Hinesville.  She lived in Long County since 1992, retired from ACS in Walthourville in 1979, and was a homemaker.  Miss Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was a member of Jones Creek Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Wesley Johnson, Jr., son-in-law, Ronnie Smiley, and all her siblings.

Survivors are her daughters, Jane Smiley of Ludowici and Vonice Wells (Michael) of Washington; son, Wesley Johnson, III (Beverly) of Ludowici; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday, February 24 at 11 AM at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dwayne Evors and Rev. Justin Gordon officiating.  The family will receive visitors at the cemetery.
