Lorraine Pratt

Ludowici – Lorraine Poole Pratt, 78, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, under the care of her family and GHC Hospice.  Born in Savannah, she lived in Long County most of her life.  She was a retired bus driver for Long County Schools and was a homemaker and pastor’s wife for 42 years.  She enjoyed cooking and baking cakes, along with time spent with her family.  She was a member of Compass Worship Center and was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Irvin L. Poole, son, Greg Poole, and sister, Ann Marie Smith.

Survivors are her husband, Edward Pratt, Jr., of Ludowici; daughters, Alisha Poole (Chuck) and Janna Swartz (Robert) of Jesup; sons, Leonard Poole (Shelley), Jessie “Ace” Poole, and Lamar Poole (Lee Ann), all of Ludowici; sister, Judy Wilson of Statesboro; brothers, David Smith (Cheryl) of Richmond Hill, Chris Smith (Debbie) of Guyton, and Robert Smith (Debbie) of Louisville, KY; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, at 11 AM at Compass Worship Center with Pastors Byron Powers and Jeptha Newberry officiating.  Burial will follow in Baggs Cemetery.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 3, beginning at 5:00 PM at Compass Worship Center.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Poole, Camdon Poole, Matt Poole, Charlie Hinson, Robbie Barnard, and Robert Swartz.
