Darien, GA – Lorraine Kay Vernon, of Darien, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday,
October 4, 2025, at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center in Brunswick, GA.
Lorraine, wanting to be in the company of her longtime partner and close friends, had
returned to the comfort of her home on Easter of this year, while still battling a long road to
recovery from a prior aneurysm, which had left her bedridden.
Lorraine was born in Dallas, TX, on October 10, 1972, to Sandra and Ronald McDonald.
She only spent a brief time there before moving to Georgia, where she would reside for the
majority of her life and fondly call home. Adventurous and full of life, Lorraine enjoyed
spending her time outdoors, enjoying nature, and was often seen riding her bike
throughout town. Her kind nature, lively spirit and contagious sense of humor put everyone
at ease and made her a joy to be around. In more recent years, Lorriane enjoyed time
travelling as she would accompany her longtime friend and partner, Scott Davis, as he
travelled over the road for work. She appreciated being able to visit new places and see the
countryside. She was an avid animal lover and held a special place in her heart for cats,
calling her two best friends Curby and Monkey.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Eugene McDonald, and stepfather, Herbert Isbell. Survivors are her daughter, Alexis Lyman (Joshua) of Elizabeth City, NC; stepdaughter, Haley Vernon of
Brunswick; mother, Sandra Isbell of Darien; beloved companion, Scott Davis of Darien, GA;
sister, Chris Lamb (Ed) of Peoria, IL; 4 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
