Ludowici – Linda Joyce Summers, 77, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at Memorial Health in Savannah. She was a lifelong resident of Long County and had worked for the postal service, the Long County school system and was a homemaker. She enjoyed tending her plants, feeding and watching birds, decorating, especially with chickens, and cooking for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Jesup and preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Long.
Survivors are her husband, Tommy Summers of Ludowici; daughters and son-in-law, Angie Moody of Ludowici and Faith and Scott Wiza of Valdosta; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Darlene Brown of Jesup, Kerry and Giniver Brown of Valdosta, and Keith and Lesa Summers of Ludowici; sisters, Cheryl Long of St. Augustine, FL and Kay Morris of North Charleston, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Dale Long of Ludowici; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 18 at 2 PM at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Pigott Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
A walk-through visitation with social distancing will begin Thursday afternoon at 5 PM at the funeral home chapel. Wearing of masks is encouraged.
Active pallbearers will be Logan Mansfield, David Hubbs, Jimmy Hewitt, Seth Grabe, Joey Jackson, and Lanny Gordon, Jr.
