Lena (Poole) Skipper

Ludowici – Ivy Lena Skipper, 88, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at her home.  She was a native and lifelong resident of Long County.  She retired from the Long County School System where she worked in the cafeteria before becoming a paraprofessional, and she enjoyed participating in activities at the Long County Senior Citizens Center.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving her Lord, and was preceded in death by her husband, W. H. “Sonny Boy” Skipper, and brothers, Carlton Poole, Eugene Poole, and Donnie Poole.

Survivors are her daughters, Shelia Morris (David), Wanda Parker (Dale), and Linda McMillan (Randy), all of Ludowici; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 5 at 11 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
