Kathleen (Holland) Rowe

Townsend – Kathleen Estelle Rowe, 91, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.  She was a native and lifelong resident of McIntosh County.  She had worked at Day’s Inn in Eulonia and was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and raising her chickens.  Born and raised on a farm, she learned to grow things, including rice.  Later, in her own words, “fun on the farm was rounding up livestock and playing hopscotch in the road”.  She was a charter member of Eulonia Church of God of Prophecy where she served as clerk and treasurer and as a Sunday school teacher.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Rowe, grandson Jason Rowe, a great-grandson Grady, and siblings, Mickie Blocker, Harold Holland, and Hanes Holland.

Survivors are her daughters, Laverne Kornegay and Kathy Brown of Townsend; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Faye Rowe and Curtis and Lynette Rowe of Brantley County, Johnny and Teresa Rowe, Stanley and Debra Rowe, and David and Esther Rowe of Townsend; brother and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Dorita Holland of Brunswick and Mary Holland of Cox; twenty-eight grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 4 at 2 PM at Eulonia Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Danny Stilwell and Steve Rush officiating.

Burial will be in Youngs Island Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church Tuesday from 5:30 – 8 PM at the church.

Active pallbearers will be Arlie Blocker, Michael Holland, Steve Rush, Henry Rulason, Hank Rowe, Wayne Deal, Jimmy Debo Ginn, and David Rowe, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Rozier, Mildred Rozier, Mary Deal, June Rush, and Mary Holland.
