Ludowici – John Julian Driggers, 78, died Saturday, December 4, 2021, at his home under the care of his family and GHC Hospice. Born in Hinesville, he lived most of his life in Long County. He retired from the Army National Guard and from civil service at Ft. Stewart where he worked as a Field Maintenance Mechanic. An avid outdoorsman, he played recreation league softball, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and time spent in the river swamp. He was a great cook, was known as a storyteller, and a Presbyterian.
Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Kasey and Clay Goode of Ludowici; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Beth Driggers of Fairfax, VA; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Hoffman and Annette and Gene Miller of Ft. Mill, SC; brother, Edward Brewer of Hinesville; grandchildren, Winston Goode, Braeden Goode, Morgan Goode, and Myles Jones; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 10 at 11:30 AM from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eric Rentz officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 9 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Mike Brewer, Jimmy Brewer, Nathan Efrid, Winston Goode, Matt King, Wynn Dunham, and Jim Manning.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Middleton, Gary Gordon, Johnny Gordon, Franklin Dunham, Wesley Johnson, and Mike McClelland, Sr.
