Joseph Howard

Townsend – Joseph Paul Howard, 71, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025, at his home under the care of Georgia Hospice Care and his family.  He was a lifelong resident of McIntosh County and retired from the McIntosh County School System after 18 years of service.  A man of tremendous character, he was also a mentor who never met a stranger. 

Survivors are his wife, Diana Howard of Townsend; son, Eric Howard (fiancé, Jacqueline) of Townsend; sister, Kathy Davidson of Ashantilly; brother, Jimmy Howard of Brunswick; niece, April Fernandez (Vale) of Macon.

Celebration of Life service will be held at the family property, 2222 Smith Road, SE, Townsend, GA 31331, beginning at 3 PM on Saturday, October 25.
