John Boy Anderson

Darien – John Wayne Anderson, II, 45, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, due to an accident.  Born in Brunswick, he lived most of his life in McIntosh County.  To say John Boy was a shrimper falls short of describing his passion for the water.  It was along the southeastern coastal waters, from Key West to North Carolina, where he found his peace in the Lord.  His other passion was his family and the time spent with them.  He was a Baptist and was preceded in death by his sister, Brandi Roberson.

Survivors are his daughter, Courtney Anderson of Alma; sons, Brice Anderson of Interlachen, FL, and Riley Anderson of Brunswick; stepdaughter, Carmen Gunter of Jesup; mother and father, Bonnie Johnson and John W. Anderson, I, of Darien; brother, TJ Anderson of Brunswick; grandchildren, Everly Anderson, Keegan Gunter, and Hevelyn Gunter; several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, September 20, at 3 PM at the Darien Waterfront Park.  Rev. Justin Ellis will officiate.
