Hinesville – Jacqueline Wheeler “Jackie” King, 84, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 13, 2026. Born July 25, 1942, in Long County, she was the daughter of Robert Leroy and Birdie Mae DuBose Wheeler. She was a loving wife and a devoted and caring mother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. Jackie loved to go camping, fishing, shrimping, and gardening. She was a lifetime member of Elim Baptist Church and loved the Lord and her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Maxine Allen, and brothers, Tally, Talmadge, and Carroll Wheeler.
Survivors are her loving husband of 54 years, James King of Hinesville; daughter, Cindy Weatherbee (Gary) of Ludowici; son, Timothy Salter of Hinesville; brother, Donald Wayne Wheeler and sister-in-law, Sara Jo Wheeler; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, at 2 PM at Elim Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-2 PM prior to the service at the church.
