Jack Vickers Obituary

89, of Darien, Georgia, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 25, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones.  Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose strength, kindness, and steady presence touched the lives of all who knew him.

Born to the late James David Vickers and Catherine Vann McDonald, Jack proudly served his country for nine years in the United States Army.  Following his service, he worked as a boilermaker, where his dedication and strong work ethic earned the respect of everyone who worked beside him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Debra Vickers, who stood faithfully by his side and continues to cherish his memory.

Jack is also survived by his sister, Diane Luke of Waycross, GA; his children, Brian Vickers (Julie) of Darien, GA, Haley Adams (Michael) of Waverly, GA, Stephen Vickers, and Jeffery Vickers; his six grandchildren, Paige Middleton (Jodee), Brian Vickers, Jr. (Annie), Nathan Vickers, Maddie Smith, Lily Adams, and Miley Adams; four great-grandchildren, Bryan Middleton, Serena Middleton, Waylon Vickers, and Wyatt Vickers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Francis Carter and Kay Boyette, and his brother, Tyman Vickers.

Jack lived a full and meaningful life, finding joy in the simple things that made him who he was.  He loved farming, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, who were the heart of everything he did.  His hardworking hands, generous spirit, and love for the outdoors will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
