Jesup – Hiram Taft Stanley, Jr., 82, died Thursday, March 11, 2021 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital under the care of GHC Hospice. He was a native of Long County and had lived in Wayne County the pas forty-one years. He was retired from ITT Rayonier, was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and served in the Army National Guard. An outdoorsman, he particularly enjoyed fishing, and was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram, Sr. and Sarah Balance Stanley along with siblings, Freddie Lee Woods, Bobby Ray Stanley and Graham Stanley.
Survivors are his sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kim Stanley of Appling County and Steven Stanley of Jesup; sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlotte and Andy Miles of Claxton and Anna and Louria Morris of Ludowici; brothers and sister-in-law, David (Winky) and Nancy Stanley of Jesup and Wayne Stanley of Ludowici; grandchildren, Miracle Stanley, Darien Stanley, and Andie Stanley Tabb (Roy); four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Sunday, March 14 at 1 PM at Gordon Cemetery in Ludowici with Rev. Dickie Waters officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Cliff Woods, Josh Woods, David Woods, Mike Blocker, Brian Parker, and Timmy Blanton.
