Hilda Shuman

Ludowici – Hilda Virginia Shuman, 92, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, in Savannah.  Born in Hinesville, she lived most of her life in Long County.  She retired from the laundry business both at Ft. Stewart and off Post and was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and caring for her family.  She was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Shuman, daughter, Vivian Cason, and grandchildren, Jennifer Mitchell and Brandon Shuman.

Survivors are her daughters, Angela Shuman of Ludowici and Vicki Smith (Steve) of Richmond Hill; sons, David Barnes of Midway and Curtis Shuman (Cindy) of Savannah; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 10 at 11 AM at Howard Funeral Home with Rev. Gabe Gill officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel.

Burial will be at 3 PM at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery in Savannah.
