Ludowici – Hazel Lee Fowler, 81, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at her home under the care of her family and GHC Hospice. Born in Florida, she was raised in Wayne County but lived in Long County most of her life. She worked with her late husband in his business and at Manhattan Shirt Factory for 14 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking for and taking care of her family and had a hand in helping raise her children and grandchildren. She was a member of A New Beginning Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Larry M. Fowler, great-grandsons, Mason and Huxley Gordon, and sisters, Eddie-Grace McMorris and Carolyn Bland.
Survivors are her daughter, Terry Strickland (Wilton) of Jesup; sons, Tony Fowler (Becky) and Larry Fowler, Jr, of Ludowici; sister, Barbarann Griffis of Jesup; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM Friday, August 30 at A New Beginning Church.
Funeral services will follow at 11 AM at the church with Rev. Tom Gardner and Rev. Justin Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Baggs Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Pee Wee Fowler, Joseph Fowler, Jake Gordon, Nathan Gordon, Garrett McClelland, Case Fowler, Camden Shealey, and Tony Young.
