Waynesville – Robert Gregory "Spanky" Young, 54, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023, in Brantley County.  Born in Savannah, he lived in McIntosh County most of his life and in Brantley County for the past 10 years.  He was a former employee of Glynn County and was a retired truck driver.  His favorite hobby was drawing.  He attended Waynesville Baptist Church and his grandparents, Huxley and Artice Fowler, and David Lee Young and Gracie Rowe preceded him in death. 

Survivors are a son, Robert Nicholas Young of Townsend; parents, Robert Lee and Lynette Young of Townsend; sisters, Sybil Johnson (Rick) of Macon, and Tina Young of Townsend; brother, Randall Young (Jay Ulrich) of Savannah; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Monday, August 28 at 11 AM at Youngs Island Community Church with Rev. Danny Stilwell officiating. 

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
