Grayson Gaitten Obituary

Ludowici - Grayson Zayne Gaitten, age 9, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in McIntosh County.  Grayson lived big, loved hard, and packed more life into his nine years than most do in a lifetime. He was the kindest, sportiest, wild child– full of laughter, light, and the kind of energy that couldn’t be contained. His carefree spirit was magnetic, and his heart was as big as his dreams.  Grayson had a passion for sports, especially baseball and football. Whether he was knocking the ball out of the park or making big stops on the football field, he played with grit, joy, and the best kind of competitive fire. He was a true water bug– happiest when he was swimming, splashing, or fishing, rod in hand and a grin on his face. He loved being outdoors and especially loved hunting– always ready for the next buck with a camo hat on his head and mischief in his eyes.  Grayson had a deep love for God. He enjoyed worship music and wasn’t shy about singing loud and proud. His faith was simple, pure, and strong– the kind that could move hearts without saying a word.  And if there was one thing Grayson did best (besides stealing hearts), it was giving his mama a little hell– always with a smirk and that irresistible charm. Their bond was something fierce and beautiful, full of love, laughter, and a whole lot of playful comebacks. To know Grayson was to love him. He had a gift for making people feel seen, included, and important. He could light up a room with his laugh and melt hearts with his hugs. Fiercely loving and endlessly curious, Grayson approached the world with excitement– always ready for the next adventure.  Grayson is survived by his loving parents, Kayne and Beth Gaitten; his brother Hudson Gaitten, grandparents, Michael and Debbi Gaitten, and Carl and Jo Steen; great grandparents, Mary Coker, and Mary Steen, his aunts and uncles: Kaleb Gaitten (Victoria), Kylie Gaitten (Utah), Madison Parrish (Anthony), godparents, Franz, III and Danielle Foster Long and children, Jadan Knight, Hunter Long, and Everett Long; many cousins, teammates, and friends who adored him. His bond with his family and friends was unbreakable.

To honor Grayson’s memory, all are invited to wear their favorite baseball or football jerseys and sneakers — a tribute to the games he loved and the joyful spirit he brought to every field.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Golden Isles Church of God in Brunswick.

The celebration of Life service will follow at 7 PM at the church with Pastor Nathan Smith and Pastor Justin Smith officiating.  A private burial will be in the Plum Orchard Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Kayne, Kaleb, Chuck Charles, Coach Bucket, Coach TC, and Coach CP.

Though his time with us was far too short, Grayson left an indelible mark on every heart he touched. His light continues to shine in the laughter of his friends, the games played under bright skies, the hush of early morning hunts, and every cast of a fishing line into calm waters.

Fly high, sweet Grayson. You will always be our brightest spark.
