Gloria Phillips Obituary
Ludowici – Gloria Margarette Phillips, 72, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. Born in Hinesville, she had lived in Long County most of her life and in Wayne County since 2012. A homemaker, she enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden, and fishing. She was Baptist by faith and preceded in death by her grandson, Dustin Wells, sister, Betty Mitchell, and former husbands, Cleon Wells, Sr., and Joe Phillips.
Survivors are her daughters, Denise Wells Long of Ludowici and Paula Wells of Jesup; sons, Cleon “Bubba” Wells, Jr. of Blackshear and Christopher Wells of Jesup; sisters, Barbara Pye of Savannah and Yvonne Rush of Glennville; brothers, Thomas Kelly, Jr. and Lewis Kelly of Screven, and Ricky Simmons of Alabama; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 9 at 11 AM at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Baggs Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel.
Pallbearers will be Darvon Freeman, Michael Freeman, Stanley Wells Jr., David Hall, and Jason Howard.
