Jesup – George Victor Andrews, 79, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Savannah. Born in OH, he lived there most of his life, moving to Wayne County 9 years ago. A US Navy veteran, he worked industrial jobs in OH, as a security guard for several years, and in maintenance. He volunteered his time for several years with Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup and was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Ludowici. His wife, Laura Andrews, several siblings, and a granddaughter, Katherine Thayer, preceded him in death.
Survivors are a daughter, Patricia Thayer of Hesperia, CA; son, Doug Andrews (Regina) of Jesup; sisters, Carol Cash and Vickie Williams of Ohio; grandchildren, Esther Pfahler (James), Miriam Andrews, Diane Andrews, and Ben Thayer; great-grandchildren, Laura and James, Jr.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 11 at 11 AM at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Sellers officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 – 11 AM at Faith Baptist.
Committal services will be at 3 PM at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
