Ludowici – Gene E. “Pappy Gene” Reddish, 74, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his home under the care of his family and GHC Hospice. He was a lifelong resident of Long County, was a mechanic and had retired from MATES at Ft. Stewart. He was a US Army veteran and retired from the National Guard. He was a devoted family man and had a giving heart. Pappy Gene never met a stranger and was known for remembering and reciting birthdates of family, friends, and people in the community. He attended Grace Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Howell and great-grandchildren, Harper Hulett and Oliver Bell.
Survivors are his wife, Patty M. Reddish of Jesup; daughters and sons-in-law, Shalane and Larry Bell, Jr. and Kim and Hollis Smith, Jr. of Ludowici, Charley and Jeremy Hulett of Ashland, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Gene, Jr. and Jamie Reddish of Ludowici; step-sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sharri Mosley and Tony and Jennifer Mosley; sister, Henrietta Hudson of Valdosta; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hugh and Margie Reddish and Charles and Debbie Reddish of Ludowici; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel.
Burial will be in the Pigott Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
