Gayle (Floyd) Walden

74, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at her home under the care of her family and Georgia Hospice Care.  Gayle was born in Jesup, GA and had lived in Townsend for the last twenty years.  She was known to be quite adventurous, especially riding four-wheelers and she excelled at being a nurse.  She liked to quilt with her mother in her younger years, and she absolutely loved being with her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Brookie & Frankie Floyd; and brother, Brookie Floyd, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Ryals (John) of Townsend; son, Curtis Griffin of Richmond Hill; grandchildren, Heather Ericksen, Amber Goldman, and Ashley Murdaugh; great-grandchildren, Harper Ryals, Allie Belle Ericksen, Peyton Goldman, Bentley Goldman, Zoe Ericksen, Levi Ericksen,  Alex Gerrald, and Elias Gerrald; great-great grandchild, Amelia Rose Gerrald; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be Friday, July 3 at Townsend Church of God at 11 AM.
