Ludowici – Garry Jack Futch, 70, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at his home under the care of his family and Georgia Hospice Care. Born in Glennville, he lived in Long Conty most of his life and formerly worked for Long County and in the forestry field. An outdoorsman, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He attended Tibet Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Wanda Bland Futch.
Survivors are his aunts, Joyce Harris (Stanley) and Wanda Bacon Futch of Ludowici, Glenda Futch of Glennville and Jennie Futch of Shellman Bluff; uncle, Ferrell Smiley of Ludowici; numerous cousins, including his caregivers, Leeann and Lamar Poole of Ludowici, and special caregivers, Joyce Hungerford-Harris, Ammy Heather, Edward Jacobs, along with the staff of Georgia Hospice Care.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 11AM at Howard Funeral Home in Ludowici with Rev. Paul Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in the Rye Patch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11AM at the funeral home on Saturday.
Active pallbearers will be Robbie Murray, Stan Townsend, L. G. Mitcham, Speedy DeLoach, Ollie Bratcher, and Daryl Futch.
