Freddie Goode

Ludowici – Freddie L. Goode, 77, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, at his residence under the care of his family and Hospice of South Georgia.  Born in Jesup, he lived in Long County all his life and retired as a lead operator from Rayonier with 30 years of service.  He was a USAF veteran of the Viet Nam War where he served in the 8th Tactical Bomb Squadron.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ludowici.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Aleene Gordon Goode. 

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Janis M. Goode of Ludowici; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Tina Goode of Ludowici and David and Kristyn Goode of Bishop; sister, Josie Griffin of Ludowici; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Sheryl Goode and Jackie and Kathy Goode of Ludowici, Richard and Tamara Goode of Brunswick; grandchildren, Hagen Goode (Courtney), Reid Goode, Ashlyn Goode, and Avery Goode; great-grandchildren, Jack Goode and Clyde Goode; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The Celebration of Life services will be Wednesday, July 5, at 3 PM at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brian Smith officiating.   Burial will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
