Fred Coley

Jesup – Fredrick E. “Fred” Coley, Sr., 81, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Hospice of South Georgia IPU in Jesup.  Fred was born in Hortense and lived most of his life in Jesup, GA.  He liked to tinker with different things and could usually be found at Krystals or Hardees hanging out with his friends.  He was known to always have a story to tell.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Flowers Coley, his parents, Floyd and Mary Harrison Coley, stepsons, Hershel Carter and Randy Carter, and his sisters, Fran McClanahan and Patricia Stewart.

Survivors are his daughter, Torie Coley; sons and daughter-in-law, Freddie Coley (Candice), and Greg Coley; stepson, Michael Carter, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of Jesup; niece, Bobbie Isaacs, of Conway, SC; special friend, Sarah Wiggins; and his canine companion, Pudding.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 2, at 11:00 AM at Howard Funeral Home Chapel. Freddie and Candice Coley will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Sunset Oak Memorial Cemetery in Jesup.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Howard Funeral Home in remembrance of Mr. Fred Coley.
