Townsend – Frank Henry Ryals, 87, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at his home. He was a native and lifelong resident of McIntosh County, retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation, and was a US Army veteran. He enjoyed the outdoors whether planting and working in his garden or riding his horses. Mostly, he valued time spent with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Ryals, and siblings, Pauline, Elbert, Lawrence, and Eddie.
Survivors are his daughter, Peggy S. Lynn of Townsend; sons, Dwayne Ryals (Melissa) of Townsend and Doyle Ryals (Delisha) of Riceboro; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 6 at 11 AM at Townsend Church of God with Pastor Bruce Miller officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery in McIntosh County.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Ryals, Doyle Ryals, Jr., Craig O’Berry, Connor Boone, Dragos Caloianu, Joshua Knowles, and Braelyn Knowles.
